PM Urges Persons with Disabilities to Strive for Success in Sports

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has urged all athletes with disabilities to strive to show everyone that persons with disabilities have the ability to play sports just like athletes that do not have disabilities.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd National Games and the 1st Paralympics Games on Monday evening, 21 November 2022, at the Moradok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh, Prime Minister Hun Sen said he believes that persons with disabilities can play and take part in sports like athletes who do not have disabilities.

This is the first time that Cambodia has organized a sports competition for athletes with disabilities to take part. This year’s national games feature 38 sports and include also 7 paralympic sports chosen by the Ministry of Education and the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia. The games are taking place from 19-30 November, 2022.
